How to use line counter
- Type, paste, open a UTF-8 text file or load an example. Inputs stay in this browser.
- Choose your operation and settings. Results update after a short pause; Ctrl/Cmd + Enter or Run tool processes immediately.
- Review the result, copy it or choose a filename and download. Undo/redo applies to recent input edits; Reset clears the workspace.
A simple example
a b has three lines, one blank and two nonblank.
What to keep in mind
Empty input has zero lines. A trailing newline creates a final empty line; uniqueness is case-sensitive. Text inputs are limited to one million characters, output to four million, and worker processing to ten seconds. Recent undo history stays in memory only and is discarded when leaving the tool.
Good questions. Clear answers.
Does my input leave the device?
This workspace processes inputs and file bytes locally. Recent input edits remain in temporary memory for undo, and are discarded on Reset or when you leave. They are not saved to your account or browser storage.
Can I undo input edits?
Use Undo input or Redo input for recent text/settings edits. History is bounded and excludes file bytes and results. There is no automatic recovery after closing or refreshing the page.
