A LITTLE KNOW-HOW

How to use image to text

  1. Choose a PNG, JPEG or WebP under 10 MB and 16 megapixels.
  2. Select English, Hindi or both and a page layout preset. The engine downloads locally hosted language data.
  3. Recognize text, review confidence and word boxes, edit the result and export TXT. TSV and hOCR exports retain the original engine recognition, not later text edits.

A simple example

A clear screenshot of printed text generally works better than a tilted photo. Crop out unrelated areas before recognition.

What to keep in mind

OCR can misread names, digits, tables and handwriting. Confidence is an engine estimate, not a guarantee. Word overlays display up to 2000 words. Browser memory varies by device; recognition is limited to two minutes. Cancellation terminates the worker. Exports are TXT, TSV and hOCR; this tool does not create a searchable PDF.

Good questions. Clear answers.

Where is my image processed?

In a browser worker. Language models are downloaded from this site; the image is never uploaded.

Is the result a Word document?

No. This tool exports plain text and does not preserve document layout.
